User enumeration via subdirectory REST route bypass
Published Jan 2, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Authorization bypass in WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan before 9.3.3 allows remote attackers to list WordPress users. On subdirectory installations, the REST API access filter fails to block a crafted double-slash request to /wp-json/wp/v2/users. The flaw is reachable without authentication when REST user-data blocking is enabled, and its bounded consequence is disclosure of the site's user list.
