Stored XSS via unsanitized role names
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Rapid Software LLC Rapid SCADA 5.8.4 allows remote attackers to run script in an assigned user's browser. The Roles table stores the Name field without neutralizing script markup, and the profile view renders that value as executable browser content. Execution requires the crafted role to be assigned to a user who then opens the profile, exposing that browser session's cookies, data, and actions.
