Authentication bypass via unparameterized login query
Published Nov 30, 2022 · Updated Feb 6, 2026
SQL injection in Simple Inventory Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to bypass login via crafted credentials. The /ims/login.php handler passes POST email and pwd values into Inventory::login, which embeds them directly in a users-table SELECT without validation, sanitization, or parameter binding. The unauthenticated login surface accepts time-based expressions, enabling database query manipulation and a successful session as a retrieved user.
