CVE-2022-4413Network attack vector

Reflected script execution via error-page query

Published Dec 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Nuxt before 3.0.0-rc.13 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim browser via a crafted error-page request. The Nitro renderer accepted direct /__nuxt_error requests and processed attacker-controlled query data without the guard later added by commit 253c8f7, allowing reflected markup or script to reach the response. Exploitation requires a victim to request or follow a crafted URL; the consequence is script execution in the application origin with the confidentiality and integrity exposure typical of reflected XSS.
