Code execution via third-party dependency resolution
Published Nov 7, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025
Dependency confusion in d8s-stats 0.1.0 allows attackers to execute code through a third-party democritus-math package from PyPI. The release metadata directs installation to democritus-math after that distribution name left the maintainer's control, introducing third-party package code. Exploitation requires installation of the affected release from an index that resolves the dependency; public records do not disclose the payload.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
