Administrator command execution via PHP file upload
Published Jan 3, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in b2evolution CMS 7.2.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through uploaded PHP files. When admins_can_manipulate_sensitive_files is enabled, the extended-post editor accepts a PHP file and stores it in a web-accessible quick-uploads directory. Administrator access and explicit enabling of the setting are required; the vendor disputes the CVE because the behavior is documented as an optional feature.
