Arbitrary user impersonation via CORBA password bypass
Published Nov 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025
Authentication bypass in BACKCLICK Professional 5.9.63 allows remote attackers to obtain arbitrary user sessions through CORBA. The BCServer relogin method skips the password check, while setupMandatorSwitch disables that check for the next login and returns a valid api_object session. Network access to the CORBA back-end service is required; successful exploitation permits application actions while impersonating any user.
