Unauthenticated command execution via exposed CORBA service
Published Nov 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Missing authentication in BACKCLICK Professional 5.9.63 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary system commands through CORBA. The exposed JacORB implementation repository on TCP port 65501 accepts a predictable object reference and permits unauthenticated registration and activation of a server with an attacker-supplied command line. Network reachability to that management port is sufficient, and successful exploitation runs commands on the BACKCLICK server.
