Missing authentication in SICK SIM2x00 firmware before 1.2.0 allows remote attackers to obtain the RecoverableUserLevel access level. The password recovery mechanism accepts invocation without the required authentication rights and grants that recoverable user level. No prior privileges or user interaction are required, and the gained level permits actions affecting device confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
