Untrusted-site redirection via unsafe origin validation
Published Nov 2, 2022 · Updated May 2, 2025
Open redirect in Apache Airflow before 2.4.2 allows remote attackers to redirect users through the webserver's /confirm endpoint. The get_safe_url helper returned a supplied origin without first resolving it against the request host, allowing browser-normalized values to escape the intended host. Exploitation requires a user to follow an attacker-crafted link; it can send the browser to an untrusted site but does not interrupt Airflow.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
