Root command execution via unvalidated Check_TSSI input
Published Jan 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
OS command injection in Linksys WRT54GL firmware 4.30.18.006 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The Check_TSSI function in the httpd binary inserts unvalidated request input into a system command. Administrator authentication and a crafted POST request to /apply.cgi are required, after which the command runs on the embedded Linux system as root.
