Format-string injection in Fortinet FortiOS and FortiProxy allows local users with administrator privileges to execute arbitrary code. The fortiguard-resources CLI command interprets crafted command arguments as formatting directives instead of treating them solely as data. Reachability requires local access and high privileges; successful exploitation can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability on the appliance.
