CVE-2022-43949Network attack vector

Unauthenticated brute-force attacks via outdated GUI hashing

Published Jun 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Weak cryptography in affected Fortinet FortiSIEM releases through 6.7.1 allows remote attackers to brute-force GUI endpoints without authentication. Fortinet states that GUI endpoints use outdated hashing methods but does not identify the endpoint, algorithm, or hashed value. Network access to an exposed GUI is sufficient; the published record limits the result to brute-force attacks and does not establish code execution or service interruption.
