Unauthenticated authorization bypass via permissive path regex
Published Apr 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Authentication bypass in Pentaho Business Analytics Server before 9.3.0.2 and version 9.4.0.0 allows remote attackers to evade access controls. Spring Security rules in applicationContext-spring-security.xml match require-cfg.js query text before the catch-all authenticated API rule, so a crafted non-canonical URL receives anonymous access. No credentials or user interaction are required, and the bypass exposes otherwise protected Spring API endpoints and their returned information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
