Menu order tampering via nonce-free AJAX request
Published Feb 21, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
CSRF in Hijiriworld Intuitive Custom Post Order before 3.1.4 allows remote attackers to change WordPress menu order through a user's session. The update-menu-order AJAX action accepts attacker-supplied order data and updates post menu_order values without verifying a CSRF nonce. A logged-in WordPress user must submit the attacker's crafted form; the resulting integrity impact is limited to content ordering.
