CVE-2022-4383Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated SQL injection via unsanitized orderby parameter

Published Jan 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025

SQL injection in Codeboxr CBX Petition for WordPress before 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to query the database through a public AJAX action. The cbxpetition_load_more_signs handler places the attacker-controlled orderby parameter into an SQL statement without sanitization or escaping. Exploitation requires a published petition and its nonce; the published proof of concept injects a time-delay subquery, demonstrating unauthenticated query manipulation.
