Cluster credential disclosure via clear-text logging
Published Apr 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 11, 2025
Sensitive-data logging in Pentaho Business Analytics Server before 9.3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to read cluster credentials via system logs. With the Big Data Plugin present, cluster connection handling writes usernames and passwords to logs in clear text instead of redacting them. Access requires high product privileges or separate access to the server logs, and the disclosed credentials can expose connected clusters.
