Node outage via unchecked Tbase command preconditions
Published Feb 8, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Unchecked return handling in B&R Industrial Automation APROL before R 4.2-07 allows remote attackers to stop a system node via crafted commands. The Tbase server calls commands without adequately checking their preconditions, allowing a specially crafted network message to leave the node stopped or inaccessible. Exploitation requires network access to an affected node, and the published impact is limited to availability rather than data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
