Unauthenticated file write via path traversal
Published Oct 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025
Path traversal in Synology Presto File Server before 2.1.2-1601 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files through file operations. File operation management fails to confine an attacker-controlled pathname to its intended directory, but Synology has not disclosed the affected operation or parameter. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is limited to arbitrary file writes.
