Reflected XSS via unescaped AJAX query parameters
Published Jan 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Reflected XSS in VBog Bg Bible References 3.8.14 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted URL. The unauthenticated bg_bibrefs action at wp-admin/admin-ajax.php reflects the title, lang, and type query parameters without sanitization or output escaping. A victim must follow the attacker's link, after which the script runs in the trusted WordPress origin and can read or alter data available to that browser session.
