Dashboard XSS via incomplete Markdown sanitization
Published Jan 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 4, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Apache Superset 1.5.2 and earlier and 2.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script via dashboards. The SafeMarkdown component rendered raw HTML after rejecting only quoted href or src values using javascript, vbscript, or file schemes. Dashboard-creation permission is required, and another user must render the crafted Markdown for script execution in that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=1.5.2
