Cross-user script execution via crafted pack rules
Published Dec 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in StackStorm Web UI before 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in other users' sessions. Pack rules retain attacker-controlled script or HTML without sufficient neutralization, although the published advisories do not identify the rendering locus. Exploitation requires write access to pack rules and a different logged-in user to view the crafted rule, exposing that user's browser session to script execution.
