Code execution via protected-document attribute double free
Published Apr 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Use-after-free in protected-document processing in JustSystems Ichitaro 2022 1.0.1.57600 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code. The JSVDA.dll attribute-arena lookup leaves an identifier zeroed, returns an allocated result pointer on error, and releases it before JSTARO25.OCX releases it again. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted JTD document; successful memory corruption runs attacker-controlled code in that user's process.
