Code execution via unvalidated U3D object use
Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Use-after-free in U3D parsing in Foxit PDF Reader 12.0.1.12430 allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious page or file. The parser performs operations on a referenced U3D object without first validating that the object still exists. Exploitation requires user interaction and runs attacker-controlled code with the privileges of the current reader process.
