CVE-2022-43622

Root code execution via oversized HNAP_AUTH header

Published Mar 29, 2023 · Updated Feb 18, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-1935 1.03 allows network-adjacent attackers to execute root code through an HNAP Login request. The web management portal parses the HNAP_AUTH header without validating its length before copying user-supplied data into a fixed-length stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, but access is limited to an adjacent network; successful exploitation grants root control.
