CVE-2022-43571Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via dashboard PDF generation

Published Nov 3, 2022 · Updated May 2, 2025

Code injection in Splunk Enterprise 8.1 before 8.1.12, 8.2 before 8.2.9, and 9.0 before 9.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. Splunk identifies dashboard PDF generation as the locus but has not disclosed how crafted dashboard content reaches code execution. User access capable of creating a dashboard is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code with Splunk process privileges.
