CVE-2022-43516Network attack vector

Remote TCP service exposure via unrestricted firewall rule

Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025

Firewall misconfiguration in Zabbix Agent and Agent 2 MSI packages dated Oct. 29–Dec. 2, 2022 allows remote attackers to reach all TCP services. During default installation, the MSI creates an inbound Windows Firewall rule that leaves every program, source address, local port, and remote port unrestricted. No credentials are required; exposure reaches each listening TCP service permitted by the machine's network path, while consequences depend on those services.
