Code execution via crafted project file use-after-free
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Use-after-free in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.77 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted CXP file. OMRON has not disclosed which CXP parser object is freed prematurely or how the crafted file causes later reuse of that memory. Exploitation requires a user to open the file, after which attacker-controlled code can run in the user's application context or process memory can be disclosed.
