CVE-2022-43486

Authenticated command execution via hidden debug functionality

Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025

Hidden functionality in BUFFALO network devices allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands through the management interface. The management console improperly permits an administrator to enable undocumented debug functionality that executes supplied commands. Administrative access and network adjacency are required by default; enabling Internet-side remote access exposes the same path to internet attackers.
