Authenticated OS command execution via hidden debug function
Published Dec 7, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Hidden functionality in UNIMO UDR-JA16xx firmware 71x10.1.107112.43A and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands. An undocumented debug function can be enabled and then used to execute commands on the recorder or alter its settings; further implementation details are not public. Access requires valid remote authentication, and reported attacks combined this flaw with a separate authentication weakness to gain command execution.
