CVE-2022-43460

Administrator credential disclosure via recoverable password storage

Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 21, 2025

Recoverable password storage in Driver Distributor 2.2.3.1 and earlier allows local users to decrypt stored administrator credentials. The configuration file stores the administrator password with reversible encryption, so possession of that file exposes the plaintext credential. An attacker must first obtain the configuration file; published materials do not identify its path, access controls, or cryptographic design.
