Arbitrary service control via improper module validation
Published Jan 18, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Improper input validation in Sewio Networks RTLS Studio 2.0.0 through 2.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to control server services. The service_start, service_stop, and service_restart modules accept user input without sufficient validation and apply it to service-control operations, enabling arbitrary services to be started, stopped, or restarted. Administrative privileges are required; successful exploitation alters service state and can interrupt services running on the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
