Secret extraction and SSRF via external entities
Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 9, 2025
XXE in Jenkins REPO Plugin 1.15.0 and earlier allows attackers to extract controller secrets or trigger SSRF through crafted XML. RevisionState parses a manifest returned by an attacker-controlled repo binary with a default DocumentBuilderFactory that resolves external entities. The attacker must control which repo executable runs on an agent; entity references can read controller files or make controller-side requests.
