Stored XSS via unencoded build-log URLs
Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins Pipeline: Supporting APIs Plugin 838.va_3a_087b_4055b and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts. The plugin writes attacker-controlled POST-link URLs into build-log hyperlinks without sanitizing or properly encoding them before browser rendering. Pipeline-creation access and a viewer clicking the crafted hyperlink are required; the script can read or alter data available to that browser session.
