CSRF bypass via unencoded input step IDs
Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025
CSRF in Pipeline: Input Step Plugin 451.vf1a_a_4f405289 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to bypass protection on Jenkins URLs. The input step accepts an optional ID without restriction or sanitization, then inserts the incorrectly encoded value into its proceed and abort URLs. Exploitation requires permission to configure a Pipeline and another user's interaction with the crafted input step; resulting actions are limited by the interacting user's Jenkins privileges.
