Controller code execution via unchecked array casts
Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Sandbox bypass in Jenkins Script Security Plugin 1183.v774b_0b_0a_a_451 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute controller-JVM code. Per-element casts from an array-like value to the target array component type pass through the Groovy sandbox without interception or allowlist enforcement. Access to define and run sandboxed scripts, including Pipelines, is required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary code in the Jenkins controller JVM.
