CVE-2022-43398Network attack vector

Account takeover via attacker-chosen session cookie

Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Session fixation in Siemens SICAM Q100 before 2.50 allows remote attackers to take over a user's account through the HTTPS interface. The device accepts an attacker-chosen session cookie and does not rotate it after login or logout, so the same identifier becomes authenticated. Exploitation requires the victim to log in with the planted cookie, after which the attacker can act with that user's account privileges.
