CVE-2022-43396Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via bypassable Spark command filter

Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025

Command injection in Apache Kylin 4 through 4.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands via configuration. The kylin.engine.spark-cmd setting accepts user-controlled command text, and an incomplete denylist can be bypassed before Spark launches it. Low-privileged network access is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the Kylin service account's privileges.
