Stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published Jan 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Marco Milesi WP Attachments before 5.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler stores administrator-supplied values without sanitization, and affected views render those values without output escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and exposure persists when unfiltered_html is disallowed, including in multisite deployments; the stored script executes when an affected page is viewed.
