Stack memory overwrite via unbounded client port copy
Published Nov 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Stack overflow in Tasmota before 12.2.0 allows remote attackers to overwrite stack memory through a crafted RTSP client_port value. ParseRtspRequest copies ClientPortPtr into the 128-byte CP stack buffer with unbounded strcpy, so an oversized value writes past the buffer. An unauthenticated network path to the RTSP service is required; published evidence does not establish whether the overwrite yields code execution or only a crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
