Victim-browser script execution via unescaped tooltip text
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Stored XSS in Intelliants Subrion CMS 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser via crafted tooltip text. The CMS Field Add page stores tooltip input without neutralizing executable HTML or JavaScript, and Members Add renders it automatically. Execution requires a user to open Members Add, exposing that user's session data and permitting actions in the browser context.
