Stored script execution via unsanitized record fields
Published Nov 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025
Stored XSS in Sourcecodester Password Storage Application 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a viewer's browser. The record form stores script-bearing Name, Username, Description, and Site values and later renders them without neutralization, causing the browser to interpret the saved input as code. An attacker must create an account and sign in, and execution occurs when a user views the saved record, enabling access to or modification of data available in that browser session.
