Improper access control in Mediatrix 4102 before 48.5.2718 allows physically proximate attackers to gain root access through the UART port. The firmware leaves the internal UART debugging interface enabled without the access protection required for application-layer debug interfaces. Physical access and an attached serial connection are required; successful exploitation provides root control over the device.
