CVE-2022-43034Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Converter crash via out-of-bounds bitstream read

Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025

Heap buffer overflow in Bento4 mp42ts 1.6.0-639 allows context-dependent attackers to crash the converter via a crafted MP4 file. While parsing the MP4 dac4 atom, AP4_BitReader::SkipBits reads four bytes immediately beyond a 28-byte heap allocation instead of enforcing the remaining bit-buffer length. Exploitation requires a user or workflow to process the crafted file and terminates the instrumented converter.
