Browser script execution via unescaped callback
Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Reflected cross-site scripting in OpenCATS 0.9.6 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted callback. The toolbar authentication route places the callback query value into its response without neutralizing HTML script markup. A victim must follow or load the crafted URL; the injected script then runs in the OpenCATS origin and can access or alter browser-visible session data.
