Unauthenticated command execution via administrator fields
Published Oct 26, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025
OS command injection in D-Link DIR-816 A2 1.10 B05 allows remote attackers to execute commands through the administrator settings endpoint. The setSysAdm handler directly executes content supplied in the admuser or admpass field, and the published proof of concept injects a semicolon-prefixed reboot command. No prior authentication is required; successful injection runs attacker-selected firmware commands, including a demonstrated router reboot.
