Stored XSS via unescaped website identifier setting
Published Jan 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 4, 2025
Stored XSS in the Metricool WordPress plugin before 1.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a crafted setting. The Blog or website identifier setting stores input without adequate sanitization or output escaping, then embeds it in a page opened in a browser. Administrator privileges and a victim opening the affected page are required, and exposure exists when unfiltered_html is disabled, including multisite installations.
