Local SYSTEM execution via hard-coded database credentials
Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Hard-coded credentials in APC and Schneider Electric Easy UPS Online Monitoring Software allow local users to execute commands as SYSTEM. The SNMPDBManager class embeds MySQL credentials that permit SELECT INTO DUMPFILE to create attacker-controlled files. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution and database access on the host; successful use grants SYSTEM-level command execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
