Database extraction via unsanitized AJAX query parameter
Published Jan 2, 2023 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
SQL injection in Netflixtech WP AutoComplete Search 1.0.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to read WordPress database data via AJAX. The wi_get_search_results AJAX action places the q parameter into an SQL statement without sanitization, escaping, or parameterization. The action requires no authentication; a page-disclosed nonce permits a time-delay payload, and the verified proof of concept demonstrates query control.
