Code execution via malformed model-file parsing
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
An out-of-bounds read in Autodesk Maya 2022 and 2023 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted X_B or PRT file. The X_B and PRT parsers fail to validate user-supplied data before reading past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a malicious page, and code execution occurs in the current process and may require chaining with another flaw.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
